Who We Are
The Berkman Center for Internet & Society
The Berkman Center's mission is to explore and understand cyberspace; to study its development, dynamics, norms, and standards; and to assess the need or lack thereof for laws and sanctions.
We are a research center, premised on the observation that what we seek to learn is not already recorded. Our method is to build out into cyberspace, record data as we go, self-study, and share. Our mode is entrepreneurial nonprofit.
Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation
Knowing that innovation is essential to grow the economy and improve living standards, the Kauffman Foundation believes the Law Lab’s work will ultimately lead to legal institutions and policies that foster entrepreneurial risk-taking and innovation.
As the "foundation of entrepreneurship," the Kauffman Foundation's support of the Law Lab is part of a five-year Kauffman program to support research by leading legal and economic scholars on how best to shape the U.S. legal system so that it promotes innovation and growth.
The Kauffman Foundation is a private nonpartisan foundation that works to harness the power of entrepreneurship and innovation to grow economies and improve human welfare.
